Products and variants
How catalogue items, variants, stock, media, and visibility work.
Products live under Catalog → Products. A product holds the buyer-facing name, description, storefront visibility, media, custom fields, checkout settings, delivery configuration, and one or more variants.
Variants carry sellable choices such as plan, region, duration, or quantity. Each variant has its own price, stock state, serial inventory, gallery, status label, visibility, preorder settings, and subscription options where enabled.
Use Groups and Categories to organize the storefront. Use Reorder products to change storefront order. Use Back-in-stock alerts when buyers should be able to request an email after a variant sells out.
Visibility options are enforced server-side. Private variants cannot be bought. Unlisted variants work from a direct product link but do not appear in catalogue listings. Private and archived items are not merely hidden by the dashboard.
Set Publish at (Storefront tab → Visibility) to hold a product until a future time. Times use your browser’s timezone. Storefront → Configure has the same control for the whole store. Under Before payment you can add a note shown on the product page, and choose to show the product instructions before payment. Delivery secrets belong in instructions shown after payment.
Each variant has its own images, visibility and label (Pricing & stock → expand the variant). Pick several images to give a variant its own gallery; the first is its main image. A label such as “Best value” shows next to the variant name.
Multiple-choice custom fields and fields shown only with certain add-ons are accepted by the API, but checkout can’t show them yet, so the editor marks them as coming soon. Catalog → Catalogue tools imports products from CSV, exports the catalogue, keeps restore points, and lists warranty claims and licence keys.
Bulk edit and clone actions operate on saved products. Historical invoices keep their purchased line snapshots; editing a product does not rewrite past order names, prices, or delivery evidence.
CSV imports accept quoted commas and line breaks. Match your columns to product name and price (plus optional currency, variant name, URL slug, visibility and delivery type). Prices are written as usual, like 12.50; without a currency column they use the store currency. Imported products get one variant delivered by hand. Undoing an import archives only the products it created. Restoring an export replaces saved catalogue settings and archives later products; it leaves stock, orders and media revocations unchanged. Exports contain media metadata, not file bytes. Decrypted serial exports require stock permission and include each serial’s state.
Pay what you want, donations, tips, service quantity quotes, bonus products, shared stock, paid warranty extensions and add-on pricing rules are not built yet. The editor lists them under More ways to sell and on the add-on page as coming soon. Values already saved through the API are kept and have no effect. Checkout charges each add-on its fixed price per item.
